DIAMOND COLOR

The quality of a diamonds "Color", or Tint, is determined by the absence of color.  The Gemological Institute of America color grading scale begins with "D" and ends in "Z".  "D" represents "colorless" or white as possible.  Each letter represents a range of color, rather than a specific color.

See Diamond Color Chart below...

Always compare two or more diamonds for color. It is impossible for the average consumer to determine color without comparing a diamond to another.  Look for color differences from the side and bottom (not top) of a diamond using a White background.  Black backgrounds hide color tints and inclusions.  If a store has "Funny" & Sparkling over-head lights (lights that show a spectrum rainbow colors)...RUN!  Those are special "diamond lights" which make a diamond more attractive in appearance by hiding "true " Color and Clarity. The best light source is an Ott-LiteŽ & Natural Sunlight.
